Miles 4.5 miles It was 85
and very humid
Total 50.6
(WooooooHooooo) ½ of 100
Goal for now 100

I left the zoo and crossed the old Washington St Bridge
turned into a walking bridge with several art displays then headed west to New
York St. Bridge, and then back to the zoo on the opposite side of the bridge. Still
having some time left for I needed to be back at bus at 11:30 I began walking
east to the new Washington St. Bridge and then back to zoo. This was about 3
miles and so when getting back to bus I sat with Ron and at lunch. I would have
been satisfied with this walk except Ron said the Zoo was very empty and the
animals were very active. So off I went into the zoo. Bill bought me some new
in soles for my shoes and my feet was still feeling pretty good so I was off to
see lions, and tigers and bears and such and I did and more. Birds were have a
matting dance and baby elephants were blowing bubbles in the pond and even got
to get close to one elephant and pat him. He felt so different then I would
have thought, like an old rubber tire. The lions were very active and the male
even roared which I had never heard in person. Of course I had to visit my penguins
and polar bear.
The thing that keep coming to mind is just how much fun our God must have had while creating the animal world. Being a person who loves the creative prossess, I wonder as I was going through the sea life building if God didn't just giggle as he created fish after beautiful fish with every color in the world of color. All and all it was a great day. I walked another 1 ½ miles in
the zoo and was very satisfied.
I gave some thought to those I saw along the way.
There were the joggers, the speed walkers and casual walkers. The huge
difference right or wrong was we have different goals. They are trying to maintain
their bodies and I want to feed my soul. Yes along the way my body may become heather
but I want to experience Gods beauty along the way. I know one of the speed
walkers gave me a very strange look when I stop to take pictures along the way.
I just felt I had completed a part of what I had set
out to accomplish when I started that 1st mile on the tread mill. That was walking and talking with God and
seeing his creation. This was a wonderful way to complete 50 miles. It was not
my planning but maybe it is a pleased thumb print of God.
These poor shoes were made for walking and walk they have.
May God be pleased
