Jan 9, 2014 And a New Friend to join me on the trail
Goal for now 500
Miles 6.23
Total to date 236.23
Jan 3 and life has taken some very unexpected turns. There has been illness for Bill, surgery and then this unexpected health issue I was worried about. But today I find myself with a new puppy, a willing parder to walk the trails with me. We have started our journey again and as it is the first of the new year, a great time to get going again. The puppy is a Shih Tzu and 6 mo.old and eager to walk with me. She reminds me a lot of my old dog that passed 13 years ago. Bill just up and suggested we needed a dog and in just 2 weeks we seem to feel she is just a part of the family. Giz and I have started off small so I can train her to heal and obey but I look forward to sharing this time by observer lessons God has for her and I to learn. We have had a 11 in snow and 14 below zero weather so the walking has been short and brisk.but at least we have begun again. We have walked 1.8 miles in 1/2 mile segments but at least we are walking.
Nunc coepi is a Latin phrase often
heard in seminaries of old. It means, “Now
I begin.” Novices were taught to say this every morning, signifying that what was is past, what will
be is hidden in the future, and it is only now--this day, this moment--that
counts.
