Nunc coepi is a Latin phrase often heard in seminaries of old. It means, “Now I begin.” Novices were taught to say this every morning, signifying that what was is past, what will be is hidden in the future, and it is only now--this day, this moment--that counts.

This I feel is true for me today. I said the last few post, I have struggled this winter and I have. But today I felt I was walking in the true heart of the Appalachian trail which is moving on whether you like it or not, for it was cold 33 degrees, misting rain, sleet and sometimes snow but I began anyway, and I am better for it, for I have gotten out of my comfort zone and went to see what surprises nature has for me. Here is the thing about desiring to see beauty God has in store for each of us, you must look. That is the truth; we must look and desire to see what passes our path. So what did I see that I felt so inviting on this dreary, cloudy, snow spitting day, Charlie my friendly squirrel in his home? Now this is twice that he was at home and manages to elude my camera shot. But there is tomorrow and I plan a sneak attack. The other very simple but I find interesting thing I found was green, yep even in the dead of winter God leave hope of spring lying around. This picture of moss on this tree, which I find fascinating because it is a dead tree, was not the only green. You know there could be some kind of lesson of something living in the worst of conditions comes off something dead. There was all kinds of under growth that was green and seem like it was just waiting. Waiting for just a little warmth and they would reveal some kind of spring flower. I feel sure spring is in the wings waiting
